Each year, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) adjusts the premiums and out-of-pocket expenses for Medicare beneficiaries. Below is a summary of the 2019 costs.

Premiums

Part A: Most individuals don't have to pay a premium for Part A, however, those that do will generally have to pay $437 per month in 2019. This is an increase from $422 in 2018.
 

Part B: The standard Part B premium will be $135.50 in 2019. This is an increase from $134 in 2018. These premiums are based on income, and high earners may pay as much as $460.50 per month.

Deductibles and Out-of-Pocket Expenses

Part A:  For 2019, the Part A deductible is $1,364, which is an increase from $1,340 in 2018. 

After the deductible has been satisfied, there are additional out-of-pocket costs for hospitalization and inpatient care:

• Hospitalization Days 1-60:  $0 daily copay
  • Same as 2018
• Hospitalization Days 61-90:  $341 daily copay
  • Up from $335 in 2018
• Hospitalization Days 91 and beyond:  $682 daily copay
  • Up from $670 in 2018
• Skilled Nursing Facility Days 21-100:  $170.50 daily copay
  • Up from $167.50 in 2018

Part B: For 2019, the Part B deductible is $185, which is an increase from $183 in 2018.

Once the deductible is satisfied, Part B generally covers 80% for office visits and other outpatient expenses.
